Turkey’s longest-running film festival with a fascinatinghistory of 52 years, the International Antalya Film Festival isdistinguished as one of the most established film festivals inthe world and Turkey’s premiere cinema hub. A film industrynexus blending the creativity of several geographies andhosting leading industry professionals from across the world,the IAFF is regarded, owing to the passion it stirs in itsfollowers, “the memory of the Turkish cinema”. The featurecompetitions and selections of IAFF bring over 100 titles tothe film industry professionals, members of the press andinternational audiences.
A HISTORY OF CELEBRATED GUESTS
The long list of international guests who have honoured IAFFwith their master classes, films or workshops have included,over the years, Adrien Brody, Christopher Lambert, JafarPanahi, John Landis, Kevin Spacey, Leo Carax, MarisaTomei, Michael Madsen, Mickey Rourke, Nicolas Roeg, PaulVerhoeven, Samira Makhmalbaf, Kathleen Turner, ShohrehAghdashloo, Sophie Marceau, Taylor Hackford and WoodyHarrelson. IAFF has presented Honour Awards to HannaSchygulla, Shekhar Kapur, Jeremy Irons, Helen Mirren,Catherine Deneuve, Faye Dunaway, Norman Jewison, PeterO’Toole, Kim Ki Duk and David Carradine while hostingworkshops and master classes by Andrew Davis, Stephan Hopkins, Louis Gardel, Vanessa Redgrave, Franco Nero,Olivier Lorelle, Jacques Deschamps, Michel Fessler, Francis Ford Coppola, James Cromwell, Irvin Kershner, PadraicDelaney, Barbara Bouchet and Joan Machintosh.
ANTALYA FILM FORUM
Antalya Film Forum is a co-production and projectdevelopment market organized with the aim of expanding co-production opportunities between Turkey and theneighbouring territories (the Europe, the Balkans, the MiddleEast, the Mediterranean and Turkic Republics); to support thedevelopment of the film industry; to encourage, using bothmaterial and promotional means, producers and filmmakerstowards the production of new titles and to boost the renownof projects in the international arena.
Besides Pitching Platform and Work in Progress Platform, lastyear’s Antalya Film Forum held a Documentary PitchingPlatform which documentary projects in development stagecan compete.
